Zakopane is a charming town situated at the foot of the majestic Tatra mountains. Some call it ‘the hub of the universe’, others call it ‘the winter capital of Poland’. Through centuries the Tatras attracted the most prominent Polish artists, writers, poets, painters, musicians and composers what made Zakopane a living history of Poland, where culture and nature meet in their best.
What is more, Podhale is the area of one-of-a-kind and very rich highlander (góralska) culture, which was influenced by the beautiful Carpathian range. Architecture lovers can find something for themselves as well – the unique and splendid architectural style, invented in the end of the 19th century by Stanisław Witkiewicz, which aspired to the title of national style at that time.
